  Any attempt to under-mine or bend these rules for an individual(s) sole benefit will not be tolerated!  All rules will be enforced under the interpretation of the KCA officials.  Any rules violations will be put to a committee of KCA officials – their decisions on that violation will be final, and any punishment dealt out to violators will be final!

1.    All participants must be current KCA members, and ALL tournament entry forms and fees must be filled out and turned in 30 minutes prior to launch, for pre-event meeting.

2.    All participants must obey all laws – state, local and federal.

3.    Teams will consist of one to three individuals.

4.    No trailering will be allowed.  All teams will launch their boats at the designated ramp.

5.    Blues, flatheads and channels will be accepted at the weigh-in with a minimum length of 16 inches.

6.    Teams may not fish or anchor in an off-limits area. (All dams have an off-limits area.  These areas will be discussed at the pre-event meeting.)

7.    All fish must be caught on rod and reel only. (No snagging, trot lining, jug fishing, noodling, netting, or use of any electrical or explosive devices will be allowed!)

8.    NO chumming of any kind!  This includes the use of natural or manufactured attractants either hung behind the boat or from tree limbs, spare rods, bank poles or any other means, with the intent to attract or hold fish to any given area.

9.    Anglers may use any natural or manufactured bait, provided that it is used on a rod and reel and adhered to the line by a hook(s).

10.      No limit on the rods and reels used.  (Unless state laws change them.)

11.      Each team may weigh-in a total six (6) catfish.  All fish must be alive! (Any fish that is not capable of moving its gills on its own will be considered dead!)

12.      There will be absolutely no culling of fish at the ramp area!  Each team will have a maximum of six (6) catfish in their boat when they arrive at the ramp.  7 or more fish = DISQUALIFICATION!

13.      Life preservers will be worn at take-off!  NO EXCEPTIONS!

14.      All boats will be inspected before the event.  Live wells, safety gear, etc.

15.      No boat will anchor with-in 50 yards of an already anchored boat, unless the anchored boat gives permission.  This includes non-tournament boats.

16.      No boat will drift with-in 50 yards of an anchored boat, nor can you run in front of a drifting boat in a channel line within the same 50 yards and drop anchor.

17.      NO CELL PHONES during tournament hours - tournament boats will have no physical contact with another boat, unless a boat is in peril or having trouble of some sort.

18.      All boats must be in the designated area by tournament deadline.  This area will be designated at the pre-event meeting. (EXAMPLE – 8am – 4pm – You must be in front of the boat ramp or pulling out, not still running to the ramp at 4:01pm)  NO EXCEPTIONS – Late to the weigh-in you will be DISQUALIFIED!

19.      No drugs or alcohol will be tolerated during tournament hours, without a prescription!

20.      Unsportsman-like conduct will not be tolerated!

21.      The officials and members of this organization, reserve the rights to refuse participation to any individuals, due to knowledge of any previous history of UNSPORTSMAN-LIKE morals and/or CHEATING!  Anyone caught will have their RIGHTS and MEMBERSHIPS pulled from this Organization!  (NO EXCEPTIONS!)

22.      KCA reserves the right to amend any and all rules that may be insufficient due to some unforeseen circumstances that presents itself during the tournament season and your membership dues are NON-REFUNDABLE!

23.      All payments are final! (Meaning if he or she has a protest, bring it to our attention BEFORE payouts are made!)

24.      No commercial fishermen allowed.  (Meaning if you run nets to take out our fish for resale, you are not welcome here!)

Out of respect to women and children and other bystanders, during sign-up inspection and time of weigh-in, please keep all foul language down to a whisper.
